Study without an account

Your imported source text, decks, cards, review schedules and review history are stored in the app's private storage on your phone. We do not automatically upload or sync this library. Uninstalling the app removes this local data. Android cloud backup is disabled for the app; you can export your own backup.

Accounts and AI generation

An account is required for AI generation and subscriptions. Firebase Authentication processes your email address and sign-in credentials. Our app does not store your password in its own database. We store your account identifier, generation counts and subscription status to operate allowances and purchases.

When you agree to generate cards, the deck title and source text are sent over an encrypted connection to our Firebase backend and Google's Vertex AI service. The original PDF file is not uploaded. We process the text to create questions, answers and source references. Avoid uploading sensitive personal information or material you do not have permission to use.

Our database does not retain the input source text. Generated questions, answers and their short source quotations are cached so the same request can be recovered. These records are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours; database cleanup may take additional time, typically up to another 24 hours. Google may retain service data under its applicable service and abuse-prevention policies.

Purchases and app integrity

Google Play processes subscription payments; we do not receive your payment-card number. We receive and store purchase tokens, subscription expiry and a pseudonymous account identifier to verify access. Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity process technical app/device integrity signals to help prevent unauthorized access and abuse. Technical requests can include IP addresses and service diagnostics handled by Google.

Content reports and support

If you report AI content inside the app, the selected question, answer, report reason and account identifier are sent to Bitter Softworks for review. Reports are scheduled for deletion after 90 days unless longer retention is needed to resolve the issue or meet a legal obligation. Support emails contain whatever information you choose to send. Do not send passwords or payment-card details.

How information is used

We use this information to provide requested study features, manage accounts and subscriptions, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and respond to reports and support. Version 1 contains no advertising SDK and no Google Analytics or Crashlytics SDK. We do not sell your study materials or account information.

Your choices and deletion

You can use local study without signing in, decline AI processing, edit or delete cards, delete all local study data, and export your library. An exported backup contains readable personal study content; protect it and choose its destination carefully.

Use Settings → Delete online account to remove your Firebase sign-in, usage records and temporary generated results. Local decks remain until you delete them on your phone. Deleting the account does not cancel a Google Play subscription: cancel it in Google Play to stop future renewals. See account and data deletion for a request route outside the app.

Audience and changes

Recall Harbor is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children. We will update this page when our data practices change.
